West versus East: 10 distinct differences between Europe and Asia, presented through simple and clear illustrations by a Chinese artist.10 photos
Even from the photographs and videos taken in Asian countries, it is clear that people there live differently from us. In their cafes and restaurants, it is very noisy; instead of queues, there is a chaotic crowd. However, they drink tea instead of soda… The artist Yan Liu lived in China until she was 14 years old before moving to Germany. She knows firsthand how Eastern traditions differ from Western ones. Being a creative person, she created a series of minimalist illustrations that clearly demonstrate these differences. These images are so informative and concise that they might be even more useful than any thick reference books when preparing for a trip to the East. On the left, in the blue square, are depicted the behaviors of Western people in various situations; on the right, in the red square, are those of Eastern people.
