Palm Jumeira Island in Dubai6 photos
The construction of this landmark in Dubai began in June 2001. By the end of 2006, the island was gradually cleared for development. The Palm Jumeirah is an ambitious project by Nakheel—a man-made island of luxury shaped like a palm tree with 17 branches.
The “Palm Jumeira” extends along the coastline of Jumeira, opposite Dubai Internet City, and is only 30 minutes away from Dubai International Airport. The island is designed to resemble a date palm, which for centuries has been a source of “Arabian bread”—dates.
“Palm Jumeira” consists of three main sections: the “Crescent,” the “Crowns,” and the “Trunk.”
The “Crescent” serves as a barrier that surrounds and protects the rest of the island.
On this section, hotels from renowned chains will be built in various architectural styles—Brazilian, Venetian, Japanese, and more.
The “Crowns” are made up of 17 separate residential areas extending into the sea. These areas feature exclusive villas of different sizes and designs. You can choose from Signature Villas, Garden Homes, or Town Homes here.
The “Trunk” is the central part of the island, where parks, shopping centers, and restaurants will be located. Multi-story residential buildings (Shorline Apartments) are also under construction here, offering one-, two-, three-, or four-bedroom apartments with stunning views of the sea or the scenic water canal that runs through the “Trunk” section.
