On July 18th, Shepa passed away; John Unger announced this on his Facebook page. The famous dog had reached the age of 20 years and one month.
It should be noted that John’s four-legged companion suffered from arthritis and dysplasia of the hip joints. The pain was so severe that the animal could hardly sleep properly. John discovered that water helped to relieve his pet’s discomfort, so they would often go to the lake where they would swim for extended periods. John would hold the dog in his arms, and the animal would relax and fall asleep, resting its head on his shoulder.
Thanks to the kind-hearted people, more than $25,000 was raised. These funds were used to cover the veterinary expenses of both Shepa and other dogs whose owners did not have enough money to provide them with the special care they needed.Messages of condolence are flowing in from all over the world for John Unger.
