3D display at the Sochi Olympic Park.3 photos

At the entrance to the Olympic Park in Sochi, British designer Asif Khan installed a massive three-dimensional display screen that shows volumetric photographs of people taken using one of the seven photo booths located within the park. These images are created by five cameras that combine to form a 3D model of the face. Visitors receive a QR code containing information about the exact time when their photograph appears on the screen. This display screen is over 8 meters tall and consists of 11,000 individual “pistons” – each of them representing a pixel in the resulting image.
