On Pletchanovskaya Street, there was a road leading south that was called Taganrogskaya. At the intersection with Molochnaya (Kirova) Street in the early 19th century, there were brick factories. In the 1850s, among the small houses covered with straw, the residence of Colonel Petrov began to stand out; hence the street was later named Petrovskaya after him. In the 1890s, the railway line to Balashov passed through Kharkiv, and the Balashov Station was built. In 1906, tramlines were installed on this street.
