Stephen Wozniak: The 'Wonderful Wizard of Woz' and the Creator of the Apple I and Apple II Computers. His inventions and innovative developments played a crucial role in the advent of personal computers in the 1970s.

Stephen Gary 'Woz' Wozniak was born on August 11, 1950, in San Jose, California. By 1975, he had dropped out of the University of California, Berkeley, but later returned to complete his degree in electrical engineering and computer science in 1986.

While developing the Apple I computer, Wozniak initially aimed to impress members of a local home computer club. After meeting Steve Jobs, he sold all his valuable belongings, including a HP scientific calculator, to fund the production of the first prototypes in Jobs' bedroom.

The Apple I was similar to the Altair 8800 but was designed for lay users. It lacked a casing, power supply, keyboard, and display, making it necessary to assemble these components separately.Wozniak continued to improve the Apple I, adding new features and eventually developing the Apple II, which featured high-resolution graphics and a flexible disk controller.

In addition to programming, Wozniak also contributed significantly to the development of the file system and operating system DOS.
