Thanks to 3D printing technology, a disabled duck that was unable to walk properly received a prosthetic left leg.6 photos
A duck named Lutik was born in Texas with a deformity in its leg—the leg was turned back towards the body. A printing company called NovaPrint came to its rescue. Lutik’s sister, Mini, had her left leg scanned, and then a 3D model of it was created and used to print a silicone prosthetic. The process of printing this replacement limb took over 13 hours. In order to install the new prosthetic, the duck’s damaged leg had to be amputated first.
