Since the beginning of the 19th century until the revolution, the property located at Ekaterinoslavskaya Street 3, along Kuéinskiy Alley and Kontorskaya Street, belonged to the wealthiest indemnity payer, Kozma Nikitich Kuzin, and his heirs. He was the first person in Kharkiv to be awarded the title of “Commerci Councilor.” He was actively involved in charitable activities and enjoyed great respect among both the city authorities and the general public.
