DOTs of the Arpad line, Podpoloz'e
In Podobolzie village, the Transcarpathian region, most often come to see the lines of the Arpad, that is, system of facilities that served for defense. Such a remedy was invented by the Hungarians at the end of World War II. It was designed to protect itself from the approaching Soviet Army. However, only one bunker was needed and that Soviet soldiers blew up, the rest of the structures, or as they are called by the local residents - pillboxes, remained untouched. Soviet troops simply bypassed them.
Curious adventurers who want to explore the remains of the bunker will find it at the very beginning of the village, less than 100 meters from the stop. and a monument to the soldiers-liberators, depicting a soldier, in whose hands the machine gun.
In the forest, on the outskirts of the village, a lot of concrete bunkers are scattered. Many of the shelters survived, and some suffered from explosions. You can distinguish such structures by a broken ceiling slab.
