St. Michael's Church, Verkhny Verbizh

The first mention of the village Verkhny Verbizh in manuscripts dates back to the 14th century, but people lived here already in the 10th century BC, as evidenced by the excavations of archaeologist Bogdan Tomenchuk. In 1987, he discovered the remains of the Gava-Goligrad culture near the church. On the left bank of the river Luchka is the main attraction of the village - the church of Archangel Michael. The church was erected from a tree in 1861, having previously dismantled the older church.

Today, the roof of the church and the belfry are covered with metal, and the walls are lined with plastic lining. On the one hand, it helps to save the church, on the other - deprives it of its original charm. The Mikhailovsky Church belongs to the UOC.

Nearby there is a rural cemetery and a cross installed on the occasion of the cancellation of the Panshchina.
