Janusz's furnace, Mezhirich

Janusz's oven - is the only structure preserved from the once famous for its wealth and impeccable taste of the palace of Prince Janusz Ostrozhsky, who lived in Mezhirichi near Ostrog. To protect his family from regular raids on the village, the prince built his house near the Trinity Monastery, which also served as a defensive-defensive fortress. He loved Janusz and his family to visit the monastery even in quiet times.

The palace was almost completely destroyed during the war and was not restored any more. At the beginning of the 18th century only two fireplaces were guarded from the princely residence with , one of which still exists today. It was built in the form of a huge fireplace-type oven with large arched openings, built in the form of a pyramid with a roof and a high chimney decorated in the Renaissance style. The fire in it was bred in the center, most likely the side passages were closed during the winter season.

Historians argue that near the stove Janusz in the cold season was warmed by the palace guard. And during large feasts here large roasted animals could roast on skewers. The remaining traces also show that once in the middle of the stove there was a large vat, in which resin was boiled. In peacetime, this place was adapted to the forge.
