Church of St. John, Cherganovka
Cherganovka village in the Ivano-Frankivsk region is located on the bank of the Valyinka River. The first mention of it dates back to 1644, then it was called Cherganov, and they are connected with a gifted to a given village to a certain rich Polish priest.
Right next to the road there is a temple. This is the wooden church of the Conception of St. John the Baptist (its full name), which was transported to Cherganovka from the village of Krasnoili in 1811. Rebuilt in 1842, it is a typical example of Hutsul architectureof the 19th century. Nearby is a two-tiered stone belfry, which was built in 1850.
On the eastern side of the church on both sides are adjacent to the same size of the log buildings. The southern entrance has a porch. The roof has a tent. Previously, it was sheathed with shingles, now - tin. Belfry is located in the south-eastern part of the temple.
Now the church has visibly lost its original appearance. But she accepts parishioners. Belongs to the Church of the UOC-KP. The temple is an architectural monument of local significance.
