Church of St. Nicholas, Tysmenytsya

St. Nicholas Church in Tysmenytsya - one of the vivid examples of uniting people around the church. It was and in my time I saw many happy and woeful events: the activities of the parishioners, their loyalty and selflessness, the persecution of the Soviet regime and the revival of the twentieth century in the 1990s.

In 1869 the church was opened to the parishioners. However, there was still a lot of work to finalize the appearance of the church. The central dome was completed only in 1926. Despite all the efforts of the Soviet authorities, the lay people of the church and the clergy remained faithful until 1989. In this significant year for the church, she again returned to the bosom of the Catholic Church. During the service of the bishop of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the OCHA, Sofron Dmitrenko solemnly proclaimed that the times of persecution and oppression are coming to an end.

Since 1982, the spiritual mentor of the church was Father Vasily Grinishin, and today his business was continued by Vladimir Grinishin (the son of Father Vasily). He actively participated in public activities, attracting more and more parishioners. During his ministry, Sunday Schoolbegan its activities, where children learned the basics of spirituality and the Greek-Catholic faith.

From 2001 to the present day, a circle dedicated to a small French saint has been operating within the framework of the Sunday school. To date, 300 children study in the Sunday school, cultural events and summer vacations are organized.
