Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, Krivorovnia

In the village of Krivorovnya there is a church of the Nativity of the Virgin. It was founded in 1719. The temple was rebuilt in 1818.

The church is built of woodand has a cross-shaped layout. The structure of the temple includes short side branches and an elongated Babin. The central dome of the church is overlapped by a tented head on a low octagon, which rises above the roofs of church branches.

An additional room adjoins the eastern part of the single-domed church. The inner walls of the church are painted with tempera. At the initiative of the rector of the church, the roof of the church, as in the olden days, was covered with shingles.

The building of the church with all its buildings and additional premises looks very compact and organic. From the side the complex resembles a pyramid. On the southeast side of the church there is a small ancient bell tower. The church is on an elevated position, so it can be clearly seen even at a great distance.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Krivorovna is one of the most famous creations of the school of Hutsul folk architecture. The temple works in the usual mode and is always open to its parishioners.
