Dumps of the Arpad line

ARPAD's pillboxes are such silent witnesses to a terrible war that has claimed the lives of thousands of people. The network of fortifications was created by the Hungarians in 1943-1944. Their goal is to stop the advance of Soviet troops. Its named line of defensive structures was received in honor of the ancient leader of the Hungarians of Arpad. As the history says, it was Arpad who brought the Hungarians in 895 to the territory of modern Hungary. Here he founded his dynasty.

Wishing to somehow resist the rapidly advancing Soviet troops, the Hungarians built an impregnable line between two powerful mountain ranges. But, contrary to expectations, Soviet troops bypassed the Arpad line through the mountains, avoiding the danger. Most DOTs have not been used in combat.

Until now, preservedalmost all the buildings. All bunkers are not tied together. They represent a chain of separate rooms, in some you can go and explore them. DOTs near Lake Sinevir have been preserved. This line is called the "Line of Saint Istvan". Many DOTs have become the foundation of new buildings. It is very interesting to explore places of this kind, to look inside history. Everyone can easily do it.
