Bishop's house, Kherson
The Bishop's house is located in the city of Kherson. It was built in 1820, initially it had two floors, preserved until now. The building itself is made in the classic style. He was built as a dwelling for the chief of the Admiralty of the city. When building a structure, a combination of cult and residential construction was used.
In 1827 the Admiralty was dissolved and the building remained abandoned. Over time, the building began to be used as a repository for archival documents. Only in 1846 the clergy collected funds to buy and repair this building. In 1874 the building was rebuilt into a house church, which was consecrated in the same year, although the repair was completed only a year later. Since 1925 there was a specialized boarding school in the church building, and then there was a tuberculosis sanatorium for children. Only in 1992 the building was returned to the Orthodox Church community.
