Museum of Folk Art and Life of Hutsulshchina was opened in 1969 in the city of Kosovo. Over the long history of the museum, new works of masters have appeared in it, from old works to works of contemporary authors. Each exhibit is an unforgettable and bright piece of the national spirit and culture of Hussul masters.

What can I see in the Museum of Folk Art and Life of Hutsulshchyna

Originally, the museum exhibits were not so extensive, mostly they were the works of the artist E. Saydagachny. To date, the museum's collection contains about 5 thousand works of the 19th and 20th centuries - products of local craftsmen of decorative and applied artof the most diverse orientations: ceramic products, clothing with national embroidery, dishes and decorative wood products.

Exhibits created by the hands of masters A. Bakhmetiuk, P. Baranyuk, P. Koshak, reflect all the wealth and primordial ceramics of the mid-20th century. Also, fans of Hutsul masters of woodcarving will find here many works of the Shkriblyakov family from the village of Yavorov.

Each exhibit carries a special meaning and spirit of the Hutsul people. The wealth of symbols that have remained unchanged for many centuries, gives everyone the opportunity to penetrate deeper and feel the history of the region and its native inhabitants.
