Museum of the history of the city, Kolomiya
Kolomyia is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine with remarkable architecture and rich folk art. Its rich historical heritage is widely represented in the Museum of the history of the city. Here are the first chronicle mentions of the city, documents, things from the everyday life of citizens, photographs. The collected exhibits give an opportunity to trace all the diverse history of the city - this is the history of the German colonies in Kolomyia; history of city self-government bodies; Kolomyia and the Habsburgs; economy and trade of the city; education of citizens; history of the Jewish community, and much more.
There are altogether 18 exhibition halls. The museum occupies the building of the former council of pews, where the interior of the 19th-20th centuries was reconstructed, and is located on Shukhevycha street.
It is impossible not to mention one more attraction of Kolomyia - the Pysanka Museum, the only one of its kind. The external appearance of the museum became the hallmark of the city. No less interesting is the Museum of Folk Art of Hutsul and Pokutty where a unique exhibition of folk art is collected.
