City Lake, Ivano-Frankivsk

In these places in the middle of the 17th century was the village of Zabolot. The city of Stanislaws (now Ivano-Frankivsk) was founded here in 1662 by the Galician elder Andrzej Pototsky. And the lands where the village was located did not lose their former destiny - noble Polish noblemen hunted and rested here long ago.

A. Pototsky, the town governor, founded a menagerie here.

It was in this area that during the time of Stalin ponds were opened, which were connected to the Bistrica-Solotvinskaya river by locks. In 1955, the floodgates deliberately opened, water poured in, which flooded all these artificial reservoirs - and so the so-called Stanislavsky Sea turned out, which became a favorite zone for recreation of citizens and visitors of the city. This is a very picturesque place. Boat station works- you can rent a boat. It's good here in the summer. But there is a special charm in this area in the spring and in the autumn.

And the bridge of Love is the most romantic and symbolic territory on the City Lake, as they call this artificial sea. Here by tradition they come to explain themselves in love, to be photographed.
