Museum of the liberation competitions of the Carpathian region, Ivano-Frankivsk
The Museum of liberators of the Carpathian region named after them. Stepanka Bandera is located in a two-story house made in the Art Nouveau style in Ivano-Frankivsk. The grand opening of the museum took place in October 1997 with the active support of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional administration, as well as the public foundation" Memorial. "
The museum is dedicated to eventsresidents of the Carpathian region and covers the period from 12 to 20 century. The whole exposition is located in 4 thematic halls. At the heart of the museum fund are pamphlets and magazines OUN and UPA, postcards, valuable documents that are directly related to the activities of the Sich Riflemen, as well as many items and personal belongings of the insurgents. All of them were found during excavations in the territory of the region.
The museum has a branch in the village of Kosiv in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. It was created in 2004, the exposition is fully dedicated to the inhabitants of Kosovo, who took an active part in the struggle in the ranks of UPA and OUN formations. Also in charge of the museum is the memorial complex "Demyanov Laz", which was built on the site of mass executions and is dedicated to the victims of Stalinist repressions.
The doors of the museum of the liberation competitions of the Carpathian region are open for visitors on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00.
