Oleksa Dovbush Museum, Ivano-Frankivsk

Oleksa Dovbush Museum in Prykarpattya was founded in 1995, 2 years later in 1997 it was granted state status. The collection of the museum is completely built on the basis of private collections of the local historian, professor and honored figure of Ukraine Vladimir Grabovetsky. He became the director of the museum.

The researcher spent over 45 years his life in search of materialsassociated with Oleksa Dovbush.

The museum has 2 rooms, in which the entire exposition is divided into several thematic exhibitions. At the beginning of the first hall there is a stand dedicated to the life and work of Vladimir Grabovetsky himself. The second stand is the struggle of the peasants with the Pan-Polish. The exposition presents pictures of the struggle of the population under the leadership of Semyon Vysochan and Ivan Grabovsky, the Mukhs, as well as the battle of Rogatin in 1490.

The second hall is completely dedicated to development of the Opryshkov movementin the Carpathian region. Unique materials, documents, maps, schemes, artistic and sculptural illustrations are collected here, which gives a complete picture of the prerequisites for the development of the movement, headed by Oleksa Dovbush. The pearl of the collection is the decorative panel of the artist V. Masjutkin-Cherkess "Olexa Dovbush on Chernogor". A lot of attention deserves the things of the springs, the weapons with which they went into battle. Also collected a large collection of literary works that tell of the events of the troubled time of the struggle of peasants for their independence.
