Memorial of Glory with a bronze monument Motherland

Memorial of Glory in Cherkassy is dedicated to the memory of the inhabitants of the city who died during its defense from the Nazi invaders. They opened it in 1967, and in 8 years it was completely completed. Previously, on the site of the monument towered the Trinity Church, which was blown up before the construction of the complex. The diameter of the mound, which serves as the basis for the sculpture - 60 meters, and the height of the statue itself is 10 meters.

The diameter of the mound, which serves as the basis for the sculpture - 60 meters, and the height of the statue itself - 10 meters. The total height of the building is 20 meters. A bronze statue depicts the motherland, in whose hands the cup with the Eternal Flame. How long the fire will burn, for as long as in the hearts of people the memory of the feat of ordinary soldiers.

On one of the supporting walls there are 5 bas-reliefs from bronze, telling of the grief caused to the population during the Second World War. At the top of the hill there are paved alleys leading to the final resting place of the heroes. Their names can be read on the memorial wall.
