Monument to Rosich

Monument to Rosich - one of the historical architectural values ​​of the Cherkasy region. It was erected in 1982 on the Green Island, which is 500 meters up from the dam of the Korsun-Shevchenko Hydroelectric Power Station. Therefore, it is impossible to approach it on dry land, only there is a possibility to swim in a boat.

The statue is dedicated to the hero of folk tales and epic Rosich. The monument is fully armed: in chain mail, in a helmet, with a spear in the right hand and looks into the distance, keeping a sharp eye on the terrain and guarding it. This pedestal was erected thanks to the great sculptors and architects E. Kuntsevich and M. Mikitenko. The statue is considered to be one of the largest in Ukraine. It draws to itself the views and interest of tourists, showing its power, strength and carries the spirit of history.

According to the legends, the monument to Rosich is a symbol of the emergence of the Slavic state of Kievan Rus and the people of Rusich(Rosich). The monument is perfectly preserved and is perfectly visible from all sides. Getting to the Cherkassy region, tourists can not not see this landmark.
