Prince Vsevolod Olegovich in 1144 in Kanev built an Orthodox church that bore the name of St. George, but later changed its name and came to our days as the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady. The style of construction is attributed to the ancient Russian architecture of the pre-Mongol period. The temple resembles the Kiev Church of the Assumption of the Virgin and is decorated with small niches on the side of the facade, previously they contained frescoes. The cathedral was twice destroyed. The first time in the 13th century, the Mongol-Tatars.

The cathedral was twice destroyed. The first time in the 13th century, the Mongol-Tatars. And the second time - in the 17th century. During the siege of Kanev by the Turkish-Tatar army, local residents took shelter behind the walls of the temple. The Tatars could not persuade the inhabitants to surrender and set fire to their refuge. In the absence of any other way, the parishioners surrendered. And their archimandrite Makariy Kanevsky was subjected to multiple tortures and was killed afterwards. In 1688, Macarius was canonized.
In 1810 the cathedral was repaired by Greek Catholics, and after 23 years the church was returned to the Orthodox Church. Near the cathedral is buried the famous children's writer A.P. Gaidar.

Monument to Princess Olga was opened in 1911 and was to become part of a series of monuments called "The Historic Road". The alley, consisting of the figures of Prince Oleg, Kia, Shchek, Khoryv, Igor, Svyatoslav and other legendary historical personalities, was supposed to stretch from St. Sophia to St. Michael's Square. The beginning of this plan and the opening of the historic path of ancient Kiev was laid down by the pedestal of Princess Olga. On her right hand is the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, and on the left are the figures of the brothers Cyril and Methodius. This idea was approved by Nicholas II himself, who allocated 10 thousand rubles for its implementation. The whole sculptural composition was made of concrete under the project of Ivan Kavaleridze. It should be said that the monument to Princess Olga, which we see today, is only a copy. In 1919, the society, on whose initiative the pedestal was installed, was accused of having links with the Black Hundreds, so the original version was dropped from the pedestal and defeated, and the fragments were dug.In 1996, parts of the broken sculpture were found again, but not all of them survived. Sculpture was recreated from photographs, using this time white marble. The grand opening of the monument took place on the Day of Kiev - May 25, 1996.

It begins outside the street of Staroborispolskaya. The park itself is very picturesque: pine trees that exude the aroma of pine needles, wonderful lakes. Sometimes lucky to scare off a rabbit, look at the squirrel. The length of the trail is 6.5 km, width is 2 km, the cover is partly asphalt and gravel. The marks with arrows indicate the kilometers you covered. If you want, you can go further - to the Nikolsky Forest, which borders the park. Here you will see antitank trench the Second World War.
