Carmelite Monastery, Vishnevets
Carmelite monastery, located in the village of Vishnevets, is one of the samples of the monastery of the Catholic Order, which followed the faith of monks-hermits from the city of Carmel. The monastery was erected in the 1640s. It is located on Zamkova Street. With the participation of the Vishnevetskys, a baroque church (1645).
During the attack of the Cossack army led by M. Krivonos, the monastery was badly damaged. Later it was rebuilt, but in 1832 the doors of the Carmelite abode closed again. In the Soviet years, the church, in which representatives of the Vishnevetski clan who confessed the Catholic faith were buried, was blown up.
Now the monastery is destroyed. The majestic gates with a fence and a dilapidated cell are available for inspection. Near the monastery is thepalace of the Vishnevetsky .
