Church of the Nativity of Christ, Ternopil
The Church of the Nativity of Christ is one of the oldest structuresand is located in the city Ternopil. Temple It was built in the style inherent in Podolsk architecture, and was built in 1602-1608. The Church of the Nativity of Christ received its name due to the fact that its consecration took place on Christmas Day. During the Second World War, the temple was practically not damaged, but from it disappeared a monument erected in memory of the victims of the cholera epidemic (1770), and a bell tower and a stone fence were partially destroyed. A modern view of the church was in the process of a large restoration, which was carried out in 1937. The main shrine of the church is the icon of the Mother of God of Ternopil. There is a legend that Bogdan Khmelnitsky prayed in this temple.
