On this place once stood the majestic castle of Prince Ostrozhsky. For the safety of the castle, the fortress built nearby was responsible. In the castle area, a church was also built.

As a result of the Ukrainian liberation war, the castle and the fortified tower were destroyed(in 1648). After this, no one has restored the castle. In the place of the church in the Soviet era, they built the House of Culture. Lesia Ukrainka. The fortress tried to reconstruct, but it failed to restore its former power and grandeur. The castle territory was turned into a recreation area.
