Nyvky Park is a monument of landscape art. Here grows more than 90 kinds of unique trees.
The history of the park begins in 1972. Before the revolution in the territory of the present park were located "Vasilkovskiye dachi"- a park zone, decorated with ponds and a large garden. The owner of the dachas was Governor-General Illarion Vasilkovich. After his death, the park was transferred to the Holy Trinity Monastery, and during the revolution was nationalized.
New life "Vasilkovsky summer cottages" found the 1930s, then a huge mansion - the decoration of the park - drew the attention of party workers. Since then, until the 1990's, there were cottages of prominent figures of communism.In 1990, the mansion was sold into private ownership, the new owner took up active restoration and conversion of the mansion, but he did not succeed in completing his project to the end.
The park itself was surrounded by fences and inaccessible to visitors until the 1960s.In 1962, the park was handed over to the city, it was ennobled and opened to the townspeople. In those years, the park Nivki was called "Park named after the ХХII Congress of the CPSU."
