Church of St. Nicholas almost two hundred years served as an ornament of a small village Naguevichi in the Lviv region. It was in this wooden church that the outstanding Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko was baptized. The history of the church began in 1801. According to legend, it was erected on the site of an ancient monastery, which was burned by Tatars.

The history of the church began in 1801. According to legend, it was erected on the site of an ancient monastery,which was burnt by the Tatars. The wooden church, created by the masters, was a three-edged and single-domed church. Near it, a small three-tier bell tower was built.

Unfortunately , the wooden buildings burned down - this happened in the winter of 1996.It also failed to survive the relics kept in the temple - the Gospel of the Franco family.

However, a great writer in his native village recalls a lot. The manor where Ivan Franko once lived was preserved. Now here is a memorial museum. And on the outskirts of the village, the "Ivan Franko Trail" was set up, along which wooden sculptures of the heroes of the works of the great writer were erected along the picturesque avenue.

The history of this church dates back to 1801. According to legend, it was built on the site of an ancient monastery that was destroyed by the Tatars. The wooden structure consisted of three main halls and a single dome. A low three-story bell tower was also constructed nearby.

Unfortunately, these wooden buildings were destroyed in a fire during the winter of 1996. Even the relics stored within the church, such as the Gospel of the Franko family, were lost.Nevertheless, many things in this village remind people of the great writer. His former residence now serves as a memorial museum, and a "Ivan Franko Trail" has been established along a scenic avenue in the village.
