The Palace of Gredely (Skole)

Baron Gredel and his brothers built a palace in 1886. More precisely, it was rebuilt from the already existing wooden castle of Count Kinskiy. Created according to the personal project of the Austrian baron, the palace does not belong to any of the architectural styles. But it does not spoil it, like a painted white snow palacestands against the background of the Carpathian Mountains. Cozy and comfortable, it is designed for a large family and servants. Two semi-towers adorn the palace. They resemble Turkish minarets. In the facade of the tower there is a clock. Special grace gives the building pseudo-balconies at the base of the roof and on the mezzanines.
Around the palace is a stunning park and wonderful greenhouses, with a lot of valuable plants brought from Europe. Some specimens managed to survive after the regime of the Soviet occupation.
In 1939, the premises of the palace were occupied by the NKVD. Today there is a boarding school.
