The Assumption Church in the center of Tulchin is a unique relic. This building survived two world wars. On it there are no destructions, a high bell tower and a beautiful figured dome. And in the 20 century, when most of the temples were converted for economic needs, the Assumption Church remained closed, keeping inside the painted interior and elegant decor of the walls.

The history of the church is closely connected with the history of Tulchin itself. At the end of the 18th century, the famous Count Stanislav Pototsky lived in the city, which brought significant prosperity to the local places. Potocki Palace is nearby and is a whole complex of traditional manor with a rich aristocratic exterior. At the expense of this citizen was built the Assumption Church in 1789. For many years, the descendants of the Count had a direct relationship to the leadership of the church and appointed priests on a special principle. The most important priests and parishioners had the right to be buried in the courtyard of the church. According to archival data, there are more than 50 burials, but to this day only two grave crosses have survived, detailing who is buried under them.

The temple is considered one of the most important shrines of modern Tulchin. There are regular restoration and maintain the beauty around the building. The Assumption Church has an honorary title of a monument of architecture, built over 200 years ago and preserved its original appearance.
