Nikolaevskaya church, Yampol

The Mykolaiv church in Yampol is an active Christian Orthodox church, which was founded in the middle of the 18th century. The beautiful ancient temple was perfectly preserved, it was repeatedly repaired and partially restored.

The construction date of the church is 1770. Initially, the church was erected as a small Catholic chapel. The building was exactly half the size of its current size. The great arrival of the flourishing then Yampol forced to expand the area of ​​the temple, which led to the increase of the former chapel to modern dimensions. In 1862, local craftsmen added a bell tower and a large dome. Both buildings were installed on the roof, which also had to be completely replaced. And an impressive dome, and a tall bell tower have a similar shape - octahedrons. Today they are decorated in a traditional Orthodox manner - a bright blue roof with gold ornaments.

Around the church of Mykolaiv is an accurate green garden, carefully guarded by the ministers of the church. After the visit to the church, you should also visit other sights of ancient Yampol: Local History Museum, which tells about the development of the city, starting from the 16th century, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts.
