Museum of One Street

In Kiev, there are a lot of different museums, among which the Museum of One Street is noteworthy. However, it keeps the secrets and memory of the most bohemian street in Kiev - Andrew's Descent. I would like to note that this is the first private museum in Kiev.

I would like to note that this is the first private museum in Kiev. The collection is dedicated to the history of St. Andrew's Streetand its outstanding inhabitants (such as M. Bulgakov, G. Tyutyunnik, I. Kavaleridze and many others).

The basis for decorating the interiors and expositions of the museum were objects of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Only in this museum you will find authentic and unique documents, autographs, manuscripts, old postcards, photographs and long-forgotten objects of the past.

At the entrance visitors to the museum are greeted by a young lady, who plays the piano, a tailor from Kiev, who is busy with an urgent order. Crossing the threshold, you seem to be transferred to the past, when the ladies wore long dresses and fishnet umbrellas, and men are dressmakers and cylinders.

The interior of the museum can be divided into two parts - the world of women and the world of men. The exposition of the first hall tells about the houses of St. Andrew's descent. Only here you can see the boudoir of a Russian noblewoman, dishes, cutlery, sewing machines and lampshades of the turn of the 19-20th centuries, as well as a unique collection of costumes and accessories.

The second room opens the door to the world of travel, crafts, wars, trade and technology. Here you will see ancient geographical maps, banknotes, phonographs and even the National cash register.

Another feature of this museum is a collection of funny stories and urban anecdotes about famous personalities.

The museum of one street is a magic casket, which stores in itself material evidence of days gone by, so be sure to visit it.
