Dnepropetrovsk Regional Philharmonic Society
The building of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Philharmonic was built in 1909. This reinforced concrete structure with elements of Gothic and Art Nouveau became a real highlight of the then Ekaterinoslav, and the first monolithic building in Europe. At that time the theater-club of the Public Assembly was located in it.
The opening of the philharmonic society took place in 1936. The first concert was the performance of the famous opera singer Ksenia Derzhinskaya.
Today the Dnepropetrovsk Philharmonic is an architectural monument of national importance and a state cultural institution. Here you can hear a symphony orchestra, a quintet of wind instruments, an ensemble of folk instruments, a chamber choir and other bands.
