Miskhorsky Park

The oldest park on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula is in the central part of the resort area Miskhor. The majestic Cape Ai-Todor and Cape Koshka surround Mishor Park, founded in the 17th century. It was created by the architects Karl Kebach and Fyodor Marko and covers an area of ​​more than twenty hectares.

Among its dense vegetation, the palaces and villas are flamboyantly scattered, which resemble the inimitable feudal castles of the Middle Ages.

In the park there are about three hundred species of various plants. Here, exotic trees alternate with picturesque glades. Given that the park was created on the site of a natural forest, even today you can see ancient shrubs, natural rock outcroppings, heaps of stone blocks. During the Soviet era, luxury villas were transferred to sanatoriums and complemented by modern medical and sleeping buildings, and most of the parks became public and received the status of a monument of landscape art of national importance.

Walking along the Miskhor Park, you can enjoy the incredible beauty of fragrant flowers, among which a light breeze brings the surf, the cries of seagulls and the freshness of the sea. A little rest from the bustle of the city in the shadow of spreading trees, where observation platforms are located. Pay attention to the weeping Babylonian willow, which grows near the fountain "Lily".

Tourists are especially attracted by the famous sculpture of the beautiful mermaid, which rises among the sea waves. Its author is the Estonian architect Amandus Adamson - the creator of the monument to the flooded ships, installed in Sevastopol.

A bit further, on the coast, there is another amazing fountain "Arza's girl and the robber Ali Baba", created based on Crimean Tatar tales, telling of the abduction of a girl for the harem of the Turkish sultan.

In the Mishor Park, one of the longest avenues on the entire coast, which is surrounded by pyramidal cypresses, is created by skilled gardeners. Here once slowly walked Anton Chekhov, Maxim Gorky, Leo Tolstoy, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Fedor Shalyapin, Konstantin Paustovsky.
