Obelisk Verst mile

Obelisk "Verst mile" was built in 1789. His appearance is connected with the visit of the Russian Empress Catherine II. There is an opinion that this is only one of the mile miles that were set during the Empress's journey through Little Russia.

There is also another version of the appearance of the memorial sign - the obelisk was installed in honor of the foundation of the Transfiguration Cathedral. Anyway, Verst mile is one of the most interesting historical places in Dnepropetrovsk.

Not far from the obelisk you can see such sights as the Transfiguration Cathedral, the monument to Dmitry Yavornytsky and the monument to General Yefim Pushkin.
