On the first floor of this pretty house in the 30s of the last century there was a confectionery store of Ludwik Zalewski. It was the biggest shop of sweets in Lviv! Visitors praised the delicious cakes and the elegance of the institution itself.

On the first floor of this pretty house in the 30s of the last century there was a confectionery store of Ludwik Zalewski. It was the biggest shop of sweets in Lviv! Visitors praised tasty cakes and the elegance of the institution itself.

It produced candies "Tayoyki", whose name comes from the expression of Lviv "ta yoy". Sweets Zalevsky were known and abroad- for them came customers from different cities.

Later sweet traditions were continued in the Soviet era - the confectionery "Svitoch" was opened. Now here is the grand club Sofia.

Interestingly, this house was described by the famous science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem in the autobiographical novel "The High Castle".
