Museum of books and book printing in Ukraine, Kiev
The total area of the exposition is 930 square meters, three exhibition halls of the stationary exposition and two exhibition halls. The museum collected rich treasures of the book culture of the Ukrainian people, and this is about 56,000 units. The exhibition sheds light on the history of the Russian book and book business from the times of Kievan Rus to our days. Old printed books of such church and cultural enlighteners as Peter Mogila, Innocent Gisel, Lazar Baranovich are displayed; copies of the first Cyrillic books, wooden and copper clerks engravers, individual printing machines. The emphasis is on the fact that printing increased the Ukrainian self-awareness and the cultural level of the people.
The museum also features periodic exhibitions, meetings, sightseeing and thematic excursions, lectures. Visiting the museum is possible on any day except Tuesday, from 10:00 to 17:00.
