A fake city in Michigan
Last week, the University of Michigan, in conjunction with the transport department of this state, opened a new test site that could help car manufacturers and developers of modern technologies test their novelties in vivo.
The town was called Mcity and its area is about thirteen hectares. It is a network of roads with urban and suburban conditions, with all related infrastructure, such as intersections, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, sham buildings and road barriers. Most of the elements of Msiti are mobile. So engineers can model any road conditions. Also, operation of robots-pedestrians is planned, for modeling of non-standard and dangerous road situations.
