The film “Match” will open the the International Football Film Festival CINEfoot-2012 in Brazil!

On May 24th, the film “The Match” will open the International Football Film Festival CINEfoot. This is the foremost international film festival dedicated entirely to promoting and showcasing films about football—the sport that brings joy to millions of sports enthusiasts around the world. For the first time in the festival’s history, it will be opened by a Russian film.

This year,CINEfootwill feature films from the United Kingdom, Germany, and Latin American countries.From May 24th to 29th,shorts and feature films—both fiction and documentary—from around the world will be shown inRio de Janeiro,and from May 31st to June 3rd,at the Football Museum inSão Paulo.At the end of the festival,the best short film and the best feature film will receive theCINEfoot Trophy,and, traditionally, the winners will be chosen not by the jury but byordinary viewers.

Moreover, in recent years, there has been much discussion about Russia’s need for cultural expansion, especially in Latin American countries. Having our film selected for such a festival is precisely an example of this cultural effort.
