Hotel in the abandoned caves of Italy
In the abandoned caves of the village of Matera in southern Italy, there is the unique hotel Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita, owned by the Italian Swede Daniele Kihlgren.
>This entrepreneur-philanthropist always preferred something spectacular and unique. That is why I got excited about the idea of creating a hotel with eighteen rooms that include both modern elements and local culture items. Initially, the caves served as a shelter for local farmers. Over time, they came to a final decline. To restore the architecture in its original form, the cave had to be partially dismantled and then reassembled. In passing, they were equipped with electrical wiring and running water.
