Fantastic sculptures by Ben Young: sea waves from sheet glass
New Zealand sculptor Ben Young (Ben Young) creates amazing compositions from the "flat glass". This skill he mastered independently, without additional training.

Ben was born and grew up near the Bay of Plenty on the North Island of New Zealand. Often walking along beaches and exploring the terrain, the future sculptor found inspiration in the natural landscapes of his native land.

In his youth, Ben built boats and engaged in surfing, at in free time he liked to watch the sea & waves. He decided to turn love into "nature" in a hobby and engaged in the creation of sculptures from glass.

For his sculptures, Ben chooses the glass of the highest quality. In every sculpture that he makes, the sea is different in color. All these nuances are extremely important, the sculptor believes.

On the sculptures, Ben most often depicts the northeast coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Despite the fact that the sculptor lived for a long time in Australia, he still depicts only his native country.

The creation process starts with drawings. If the drawing suits Ben, then he proceeds to the stage, which he himself calls "more work" & raquo ;. Ben cuts the glass by hand, holding a picture of the final result in the head. Creating one sculpture & ndash; quite a difficult lesson.

Ben Young's works were exhibited at Gallery Kirra Galleries, located in Melbourne, Australia. The authors of the photographs used in the post are Robert Gray and Ziko O'Neill.
