High-mountain pearl - Lake Brebeneskul

The first glance at Lake Brebeneskul is enough to fall in love with this place. With a length of 134 meters and a width of 44 meters, the lake fascinates with its clear and dark water, in which the skies are displayed. Of course, all the figures about the width/depth and length of the lake are not felt, but immediately you can feel the energy and calmness that radiates the lake.

The unique combination of the highest mountain peaks of the Carpathians and the deep trench of the lake has created an amazing panorama that excites even experienced travelers. The dark blue peaks of the mountains, the azure sky and its bluish reflection in the waters of Brebeneskul, the luscious, dark green shores of the lake - all this is breathtaking and brings the person's fantasy into a fairy-tale world from children's books.

Brebeneskul refers not only to the quietest, but to the most ancient lakes of our country. Like most of the Carpathian lakes, Brebeneskul was formed as a result of the glacier that covered the territory of Ukraine for thousands of years. The glacial shores of the lake, covered with rocks and stone screes, also explain the glacial origin. But such a severe relief is only coastal zones. The area around the lake is covered with grass and small shrubs, which allows you to settle on the shore of Brebeneskul or splash in the clear water of this lake.

By the way, the water of Brebeneskul is very clean, slightly mineralized and quite tasty and safe for humans. The lake is quite friendly for people, since it does not conceal a hidden danger, such as large fish or other underwater creatures. In the lake occasionally there are small crustaceans.

Despite its mountainous location and tourist attraction, Brebeneskul rather negatively relates to night visitors, which expresses a significant drop in water temperature. Warming up to +13-15 degrees in the daytime (this is the maximum figure among all mountain lakes), by the evening the water and air can cool to 3-5 degrees, thanks to the mountains that have surrounded the lake and close it from the early and pre-sun. But the opportunity to swim and swim a few dozen meters in the clean and warm water of the mountain lake, surrounded by not melting snow and blooming blueberries with the first berries annually attracts both tourists and adherents of tempering and healthy lifestyle.

But for true lovers of Transcarpathian beauty, pure mountain air and cool mountain lakes, such temperatures will not be a hindrance, because there is always the opportunity to place a tent at the foot of the mountain where the wind is less and the weather is more comfortable.
