Nominations for the “Oscars” have been announced.
On January 10, 2013, in Los Angeles, the nominees for the Academy Award were announced. The film “Lincoln” directed by Steven Spielberg received the most nominations, with a total of 12; “Life of Pi” directed by Ang Lee won second place with 11 nominations.
In the “Best Picture” category, in addition to the two films mentioned earlier, there are also “Love” directed by Michael Haneke, “Argo” directed by Ben Affleck, “The Revenant” directed by Tom Hooper, “Django Unchained” directed by Quentin Tarantino, “My Boy is Crazy” directed by David O. Russell, “Zero Dark Thirty” directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and “Wild Wild South” directed by Ben Zaitlin. In the director category, the nominees are Haneke, Zaitlin, Lee, Spielberg, and Russell. The award for Best Actress could go to Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Quvenzane Wallis (“Wild Wild South”), Naomi Watts (“Interstellar”), Jennifer Lawrence (“My Boy is Crazy”), or Emmanuel Rivaa (“Love”). Wallis is the youngest actress to be nominated for a leading role in Oscar history; she is only 9 years old. In the corresponding Best Actor category, the nominees are Bradley Cooper (“My Boy is Crazy”), Daniel Day-Lewis (“Lincoln”), Hugh Jackman (“The Revenant”), Joaquin Phoenix (“The Master”), and Denzel Washington (“Star Trek: Into Darkness”). The 85th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 24 in Los Angeles. It will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the animated series “The Griffin”. He, along with actress Emma Stone, announced the nominees.
