The oldest building in the world
Barganes burial mound, located in the territory of modern France, is considered the oldest architectural structure in the world, preserved in one way or another until today.

According to archaeologists, the construction of the burial mound began in the 4850-4250s BC. Then there was also the second stage of construction, dating from 4450-4000 years BC. Thanks to the ceramics discovered inside the mound, the scientists managed to find out that the structure was exploited after another millennium. Until the middle of the last century, the mound was in the hands of a private owner, who used it as a foundation stone quarry. The second half of the 20th century for the mound was under the sign of ennobling and restoration. The length of Barnenes is about 72 meters, with a width of up to 20 meters and an altitude of about eight.
