Available rest and treatment in Skhidnytsya.

If you ask about the most popular resorts of Western Ukraine, the first answers will be Morshin, Truskavets, Dragobrat, Bukovel.

Along with them in the western region of our country there is a huge number of small towns and villages that have a huge resort potential. As in Bukovel, in winter in these villages there is an outlet to the mountain ski slopes, on each street there are kolyba with homemade and tasty treats. In the summer, small Carpathian settlements turn into a mecca of green tourism for urban residents. This is the village of Skhodnitsa.

It is located only 20 km from Truskavets (on the road T1402), and very often remains forgotten due to its eminent neighbor. Tourists from all over Ukraine, Russia and Western Europe go to the untwisted Truskavets, not knowing that in the more accessible and quiet Skhidnytsya there are exactly the same sources, but treatment and recovery will cost much less.

Despite the healing properties of the resort, this small village in the valley of the river Shodnichanka was for a long time an industrial center. At the end of the 19th century large oil deposits were found in Skhidnytsya, and in 1872 mining began. The transport system, which was actively developing along with oil production, led to this small town of large industrialists from Germany, Britain, France, the USA and Belgium. Many descendants of industrial pioneers still live in Lviv and the Lviv region. The population of the West-Ukrainian industrialist has increased 10-fold over the past 30 years.

Gradually, oil resources were depleted, and the town became shallow. While in the 60s of the 20th century the local engineer E. Stotsky did not find the source of mineral waters. Today the curative water of Naftusya, which beats from the sources of Skhidnytsia, is recognized as one of the best in quality and medicinal properties in all of Europe.

A small village can accommodate a huge number of 55 deposits of different types of waters:

  • slightly mineralized Naftus

  • glandular mineral waters;

  • alkaline waters, known as the Shodnitskaya soda

  • Ukrainian water deposits of Borjomi type

  • mineral-table waters.

Skhodnitsa is the optimal place for people suffering from liver, stomach and gastrointestinal diseases, diabetics and people with weakened immunity.

By the way, besides a huge number of boarding houses, hotels, hostels and camping sites, you can rent a small room from private owners in Skhidnytsia and use mineral springs without buying a voucher to the sanatorium. The only thing that is required for this is a container for recruiting water, and so strong a desire to improve your health so that it can raise you at 5-5.30 in the morning. In the queue for healing water you can enjoy the dawn views of the town, and fully experience the purity and unique sweetness of the Carpathian air.

If you say without jokes, all the sources of the Skhodnitsa are free, but doctors do not recommend choosing them yourself without first consulting and diagnosing. You can do this even with a family doctor.

Work on your own health is not the only thing you can do in the Carpathian health resort. Like most western-Ukrainian resorts, Skhidnytska is surrounded by mystical places, natural beauties and historical sights. They can be inspected as a part of the excursion, and independently, renting a bicycle or on your own transport. It is better to book an excursion by phone in advance, and pay already at your boarding house or homestead.

Walking along Skhidnytsya, it's worth to visit the museum-room of the discoverer of the mineral springs of E. Stotsky, and also to look into the Church of St.Nicholas in the neighboring village of Novy Kropivnik.

In the village of Maidan - near Shodnitsa, the remnants of a blast furnace of the 19th century, in which the ore was melted, have been preserved. This is one of the few exhibits of the industrial history of Ukraine.

But the most interesting place for walking is the historic park Tustan in the village of Urich, 10 km from Skhidnytsia. This is a complex of unique rocks that have no analogues in Europe. In addition to the high (up to 50 m.) Cliffs, the remains of protective building structures, grottos, underground passages and wells that belonged to the once powerful fortress of Tustan were preserved in the mountain ruins.
