If Odessa is a pearl by the sea, Vorontsov's palace is called the decoration of the city itself. It is definitely worth a look during a walk along Primorsky Boulevard.

The palace complex with belvedere, stables was the residence of Governor-General Mikhail Vorontsov from 1826. Here stayed the imperial couple.

At the entrance of visitors meets a formidable stone lion. The buildings themselves are built in Empire style and classics, designed by the architect F. Boffo. Massive tall columns, panels on the facade, a patterned frieze - details speak of rigor and grandeur. True, not everything has survived since the Count Vorontsov.

Twice the palace complex suffered destruction. During the Crimean War an Anglo-French squadron fell on him. The Second World War completely destroyed the Orel Corps, the rest also suffered. But after both wars, the buildings of the palace complex were raised from the ruins and restored. Particular attention should be paid to the symbol of Odessa - the colonnade of the Vorontsov Palace. Here people like to be photographed.

The House of Children and Youth Creativity is now in the palace building. Many interior elements were transported to the Alupka Palace.

For a long time, the preparation for the collection of the financial component for the erection of the monument took more than ten years.

In 1969, in the Nerubaisk catacombs, located in the Odessa region, was created a unique museum of partisan fame.During the Great Patriotic War several large partisan detachments of the southern region were deployed in the catacombs. The most famous of them was a detachment commanded by Vladimir Molodtsov-Badayev. This squad consisted of 64 men and 5 women. But not only adults heroically fought with the invaders, even children helped the soldiers and were connected between partisans and scouts. In the catacombs was equipped with a whole camp with food and fuel supplies, ammunition, weapons and explosives were stored here. The place for the camp was chosen specially with the help of local masons. All approaches leading to the camp were carefully barricaded. On the territory of the partisan detachments were built a kitchen, a dining room, sleeping rooms, a sauna, all kinds of workshops and staff rooms. For a long time in the dungeon, most of the guerrillas did not see sunlight at all, since they made their sorties only at night.Today the museum is a monument to all the heroes of the partisan movement in the Odessa region. After all, 70 people who were active in reconnaissance and sabotage were buried alive in the dungeon and practically all died there.Visiting this museum, you can learn many interesting stories about the heroic deeds of the liberation movement. The museum exposition consists of two parts: ground and underground. Most of the exhibits are at a depth of 12-14 meters. On the square, which occupies about 1 thousand square meters, guests can see everyday objects and unique examples of weapons of the Second World War. On the walls of the underground, inscriptions left by the guerrillas, as well as cartoons calling for victory over the fascists, are still kept. The ground part of the exposition includes the sculpture "People's Avengers", which depicts partisans emerging from the catacombs on a combat mission. In the hall you will see photographs, letters, personal belongings and archival documents of the Odessa underground. One of the museum stands was created in honor of the famous tourists who visited this museum. Here among other rare things, carefully preserved a letter of thanks written by Cuban leader Fidel Castro.Since its opening, the museum has gained immense popularity among travelers. In 1972 more than half a million people visited Nerubayskiy, and in 1980 the museum was named UNESCO the most visited underground object in the world. To get to the Museum of guerrilla glory it is possible by route taxi № 84, 87, which depart from the Odessa bus station. If you will get to the catacombs by car, then you need to go along the road Kiev-Odessa to the signpost of the village Nerubayskoe.
