Ascension Church in Chortkiv is an original work of ancient architectural art. A beautiful wooden temple is a visiting card of a small town in the Ternopil region, which has survived, despite the time and the current to this day.

The age of the attraction is about 300 years old.
The church was built in the early 1700's by local residents. As in many shrines of that era, not a single nail was used in the structure. The Orthodox church is the best representative of the architecture of the Podolsk region. A small but very noticeable structure is immediately evident to the traveler.
The classic 18th century exterior with a deep curtain made of wooden plates, modest turrets and fabulous little windows perfectly harmonize with the solemn and yet simple atmosphere inside the church. Here you can see dozens of traditional icons and beautiful decor of walls with gilding, densely flooded with daylight from the windows in the roof of the temple. All this is perfectly complemented by fresh flowers in large flowerpots and a special atmosphere of antiquity.
