Today the town of Rzhyschiv, and in the past the territory, part of which was occupied by the village of Gusintsy, is considered one of the most energetically strong places in Ukraine. In pagan times, for pagan rituals, the priests chose a mountain with a small amount of vegetation, located near the settlements. The highest places for the sanctuary were elevations, where lightning often hit.

The Trypillians believed in the god Perun, who threw lightning.

Interesting facts about Bald Mountain

Bald mountain, located on the same meridian with the Egyptian pyramids, is the highest point of the ancient settlement of Gusintsy. Its name of the mountain received either in connectionwith a small vegetation, or because of the pagan rituals often performed here.

The second explains the presence on the hill of some energy point, where something new is revealed in every person. Someone sees strange things, others heal, and some just get bad, but everyone feels a mix of the energies of the earth and the sky.

Not far from Bald Mountain there is a unique building - the Transfiguration Church. In the old days, services were performed weekly, and every Sunday the residents of the Gusintsy gathered in the walls of the temple. As a result of the construction of the Kanevsky reservoirthe village went under water and today this architectural masterpiece is surrounded by water.

In especially solemn church holidays, according to local residents, the bells ringing of a flooded church are heard. Recently, the church has been reconstructed.

In the city of Rzhyshchiv, which is very near the Bald Mountain, one should look into the Trypillian Culture Park, which became the pride of the city and its visiting card, visit Ivan-mountain, located nearby, and also to examine the Holy Trinity Church and visit the Local History Museum Rzhishchev.

How to get to Bald Mountain

To get to the Bald Mountain, you will have to use two modes of transport. For example, a bus or a car - to Rzhishchev and, accordingly, Gusintsev: the route Kiev - Kanev, to the church in Gusintsy and Bald Mountain - by boat on the water. Or you can use a boat or a yacht going to Rzhyshchiv directly from Kiev.
