Once upon a time the mountain was called Dovga Mogila. Renamed it in honor of General Javakhishvili (Prince Zhevakhov) - in the 19th century his estate was located here.

Currently, cattle are grazed, clay is mined. Nevertheless, ufologists believe that in the depths of Zhevakhovoy mountain hidden beacon for alien ships. This place is associated with information about anomalous phenomena and UFO appearances.
